Watch Ultraman: Streaming Now

Watch Ultraman, one of the highest grossing franchises in Japan. Often described as a cultural phenomenon, references to the main character are a common thing in Japanese media. But Ultraman’s name comes from a race of aliens, called by humankind as the ULTRAS. They are an advanced civilization from the nebula M78. Their planet is known as The Land of Light. Long ago the star that served as a sun to their planet died and it was replaced with the Plasma Spark. And advanced tech that made them evolve into their present form from the original much closer to the human race. They used to fight across the whole Universe in order to maintain a balance of justice against other alien species. Even when they are threatening Earth.

Maybe you are interested in the series after watching the great Shin Ultraman by Neon Genesis Evangelion creator Anno Hideaki. But now is the chance to watch Ultraman streaming on the official Youtube channel by Tsuburaya Production.

Watch Ultraseven Official Live!

Ultraman was the second installment after Ultra Q, the original one in the franchise. Ultraseven is the third in the young Utras. It is a great option to watch how the first series appealed to the Japanese audience way back to 1967, when the show premiered on the Tokyo Broadcasting System.

Of course the famous twelfth episode is not here. Censored by the production company back in the original run, it never got back to canon. Titled “From Another Planet with Love”, it was banned after the first transmission because of the character Spell. An Alien survivor from a Nuclear Bomb with keloid scars on it. Labeled as Hibaku Seijin in a reference to the Hibakusha, survivors of the Atomic Bombings of WWII. An article in the Asahi Shinbun ignited public outrage in a time when Japan was still dealing with post war sentiments. Legendary Furuya Bin portrayed the character Amagi.  The one and only suit-actor for Kemur in the original Ultra Q. “The Man Who Became Ultraman” is the tittled of Furuya’s autobiography.

Ultraman Taro: Watch it Now!!

The franchise turned more into a superhero series but always stayed close to its science fiction origins. Ultraman Taro is a great example of this time. The sixth series in the franchise aired in April 1973 for a total of 53 episodes. Once again on the Tokyo Broadcasting System.

Watch Ultraman Decker!

Ultraman Decker aired in July, 2022. This is a good example to see what the franchise is all about these days. But not the only one from the present century. It is the 43th in the Ultra series! Running for 25 episodes.

But these are just some examples. Don’t forget to explore the playlists and see what you really want to watch. Some episodes alone as well. But there’re a lot of series in its complete version. Like Ultraman Leo or Ace. Sometimes for a limited time as well, so don’t sleep! Some of them with an English dub and most with subtitles. It is a great chance to get familiarized with one of the three big Tokusatsu franchises for everyone. And a chance you should not miss. Have fun!
