Gundam GQuuuuuuX, the new installment in the Gundam series, is led by anime legend Anno Hideaki. He is now not only famous for Neon Genesis Evangelion. But turned himself into some kind of Guru when it came to recreate beloved Japanese franchises. He brought back Cutie Honey to life. Reworked Gainax’s own EVA series with the Rebuild of Evangelion film series. But maybe the best was his work rebooting the three top Tokusatsu series with the SHIN trilogy. Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX
Gundam Winter Conference 2024 unveiled the project for the first time. Livestreaming the official trailer on December 24. And the big news about Anno Hideaki’s Studio Khara as the animation house. Tsurumaki Kazuya directed the four movies in the Rebuild of Evangelion series.
Gundam by Anno Hideaki already sounds great. But here is the cherry on top. Yamashita Ikuto led the mechanical design. Gundam Heading to the Series 50th Anniversary
Sunrise is celebrating the Gundam series 45th anniversary in 2024 and looking forward to its 50th. The production house behind the Gundam series and Evangelion announce a film cut edition of the firsts episodes to be released in theaters in Japan on January 17, 2025. Announced as Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX Beginning, it was labeled by Sunrise as a Festive event to celebrate this collaboration with Studio Khara.
Remember that Studio Khara takes full ownership of the Evangelion franchise after Gainax filed bankruptcy on May 29, 2024. Thai new Gundam instalment features characters designed by Take.
